Stagg Bowl XXIV: Feel the Purple Excitement!

Posted by Vince Mullins on December 14, 2006

The Mount Union Purple Raiders (14-0)
versus the
University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (14-0).

ESPN 4pm on Saturday.

The Division 3 National Championship Game, the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl 34 in Salem, Virginia.

(Salem Massachussets and Oregon already had big events booked).

Both teams wear purple, in case you were wondering.

Seriously, this is Mount Union’s tenth appearence in the Stagg Bowl, and I crafted a solid argument a couple weeks back that they may be the most dominant college sports program in the country. Nate Kmic (right) rumbled for a career-high 371 yards and three touchdowns to lead Mount Union to a 26-14 win over St. John Fisher in the NCAA Division III semifinals

This is the final game of the UWWW head coach Bob Berezowitz who has really gone out with a bang before retirement.
