The freshest freshman for 2008

Posted by Vince Mullins on April 2, 2008

Terrelle Pryor, then of Jeanette (PA) now of Columbus (OH)Looking for freshman to bolster your 2008 roster? Drew Howard from the College Gridiron Boss scanned the nation for new faces with impact fantasy potential.

1. Terrelle Pryor (Ohio State)

What is there to say that has not been said already about the 6′6” standout QB from Jeannette, PA. He’s drawn many comparisons to Vince Young and is just a pure specimen of an athlete.

Not only is he the nation’s #1 prospect according to rivals.com, but he is also the #28 ranked basketball prospect.

Pryor should share time with Todd Boeckman behind center much like the 1-2 punch of Chris Leak and Tim Tebow at Florida in 2006.

NFL Draft: Best and worst NFL offenses in 2008

Posted by Vince Mullins on April 2, 2008

niners.jpgIn preparing our NFL Draft coverage at Fantasy College Blitz I again looked at the current depth charts in the NFL for weaknesses and then to the stats to see what NFL teams needed immediate help moving the ball.

I knew that the San Francisco 49ers stunk (right, in own end zone, Icon SMI) up the joint last year, but this bad?

  • 32nd in yards per play (4.36, tops was New England Patriots at 6.35),
  • last in red zone possessions (only 29 – Jacksonville Jaguars had double and came in 3rd), and
  • last with only 5.3 yards per passing attempt (get JAMES HARDY!!!!)

I thought I would share the spartan Google Spreadsheet with everyone – here is the link.
