Tulsa update: Tennial returns, QB update

Posted by Vince Mullins on May 29, 2008

If there is a more dominant trend in fantasy college football, please tell me – Todd Graham coached teams put up huge stats. He did it at lowly Rice, then led the nation in yards per game last year with Tulsa.

Tulsa four-year starter QB Paul Smith has graduated, so the battle between senior David Johnson, Jacob Bower and Clark Harrell will demand our attention.

Also, CBS Sportsline reports that RB Courtney Tennial (the former Oklahoma Sooner who transfered to Tulsa in 2005 to have a big year) applied for and was granted a sixth-year of eligibility . I would expect a healthy Tennial to be a top 15 running back on our cheatsheets.

But as the date shows, it is May so we will continue to monitor. Stay tuned for my "Dynasties" study that highlights the best offensive college football programs of the past three years.

Open letter to Ryan Perrilloux

Posted by Vince Mullins on May 11, 2008

Ryan Perrilloux, now of Jacksonville StateRyan, I have dogged you in the past, and I hate being right on these things. But I am not counting you out yet.

Follow along with my 11-month action plan, seek out the mentors I place before you and you could get your life and career back.

If you have had your eyes open for the last couple of weeks, you should have seen that you still have one shot left to salvage your career.

Keep your ears open and your mouth shut. Go to school, pass your classes, eat your fruits and vegetables. Go to meetings, get 400 yards of total offense and go undefeated. Watch how many new people will have your back. Read the rest of this entry »

Insanely funny or profanely inappropriate?

Posted by Vince Mullins on May 9, 2008

So I finally got on the Twitter bandwagon, I see why it has become so popular – that 140 character limit forces you think with brevity whereas most web writing is similar to listening to John McCain ramble incessantly.

It took me a little time to properly crop a picture of the Blue Turf for the background, but I call it a success.

Then I stumbled upon the Son of God

some excerpts…

@juliaroy I have already forgiven you. Remember, there’s a difference between kneeling down and bending over.

Hello my children, I am going to go poop. I may or may not finish myself off on the toilet and flush potential Christ Jrs down the toilet.

@dobata no problem! I’ve got your back. And your front.

I am not known for being politically correct so I heartily laughed at the second clip. Who is joining me in hell for laughing at this cat?

Odds to win 2009 BCS Championship Game

Posted by Vince Mullins on May 4, 2008

Courtesy of Sportsbook.com, here are the favorite for the college football national title for the 2008-2009 season. Missouri and Kansas seem like strong early values, plus my love for Texas Tech in 2008 should be no surprise and they are 100-1!
